HOW TO USE THE SELF-ASSESSMENT TOOL

Use the self-assessment tool to assess your capability against the Professional Map, identify knowledge and behaviour gaps and plan your development: 

  1. Identify the band you want to self-assess yourself against. This may be based on your current role or the role you aspire to progress towards. Click here to find out more. 
  2. Select your sector and function.
  3. Select the band you have identified in step 1. 
  4. Click on the 'Assess band x' link under the band you have selected - your self-assessment will start in a new page.
  5. Complete your self-assessment.
  6. Save your report as a PDF.

Provided you are using the same device and browser and you haven't cleared your browsing history you will be able to access your saved self-assessment (in progress) or results:

  1. Select any sector or function 
  2. Select any band
  3. You will be presented with options to access your saved self-assessment or results

TOP TIPS

  • Allow up to 20 minutes to complete the self-assessment
  • You don't have to complete it in one go, so long as you use the same device and browser and don't clear the cache
  • Make sure you save your results as a pdf when you complete your assessment
  • You might want to share the results with your line manager as the basis of a development conversation
